Literacy through Children's and YA Literature

January's book(s), discussion, and activities are for grades 7-12.
To "officially" sign up to participate in this month's discussion and activities...please Sign Up on www.mylearningplan.com (for those participants needing the 6.5 Staff Development Hours only) AND join the Wiki. Then, post on the Disucssion Board which book you will be reading and if you need the 6.5 Staff Development Hours and /or 8 LPDC Hours by 3:00 PM Friday, January 18.
The January book selection is the participants' choice of one of of the 2012 Great Graphic Novels for Teens. Click any of the links to see the book choices for this month.
Participants are responsible for obtaining a copy of the book.
Participants are expected to:

Read the assigned book(s) for the month.
Respond to the discussion questions.
Repond to other participants answers in separate posts.
Create a lesson using the book(s).
Meet together for 1 hour to futher disucss the books and share lesson plans.

Disucssions need to posted and Lessons need to be emailed by 9:00 PM Sunday, January 27.

We will meet to disucss the books on Monday, January 28 from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM in the Timken Library.

Please enter the Timken Commons from the 4th St. parking lot at Door 2. The Library is on the second floor, up the big, blue staircase.
